We are looking to hire a machinist experienced in conventional machinery, including mills and lathes. The successful candidate will perform set-ups based on drawings, fabricate appropriate jigs and fixtures, and perform machining operations to specified tolerance and finishes. Currently we are looking for a 3 month assignment but skilled candidates will be considered for full time employment.
Position Responsibilities
1.Experience with machine tools of the following type:
a. Manual lathe and mills
b. Auto Screw Machine
c. Gear hobb
d. Radial drill press
e. Create tooling on pedestal grinders
2. Must be able to adjust and create fixtures and tooling for the machines and change inserts and tools as needed
3. Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of speeds and feeds for various raw materials being machined
4. Controls tooling and material readiness
5. Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion and conforms to all quality procedures and standards
6. Performs other duties that may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Minimum 10-years’ machine shop experience
2. Must have strong attention to detail
3. Advanced troubleshooting skills
4. Solid communication skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and interact with all levels of employees within manufacturing facilities
