Influent Lines - Waste Water Plant

Process Requirement–
An Arizona City Sanitary District was experiencing a 20% error between the plant influent flowmeter (a Parshall flume) and the effluent (competitive) propeller meter. If the effluent meter was correct, the plant was near capacity and a major expansion would have to be rushed up to service new housing projects.
 
Solution–
The Sparling Tigermag
  • A 24" Tigermag replaced the Parshall flume on the influent line. The Tigermag returned a flow rate that the engineer felt was "reasonable" but still out of sync with the effluent flowmeter.
  • A large Tigermag slated for later purchase was brought in early and temporarily fit into the effluent line. It verified the new influent meter - they were not near capacity yet and had time to proceed as planned.
  • The need to rush through the bond process and expedite new equipment was eliminated and the city saved thousands of dollars in additional costs.
